Principal’s welcome

Dear Parents/Carers and Community

Welcome to The Willows school community. Our school is a large school and a proud school.

The Willows State School believes that developing the potential of each individual child through consistent and quality educational experiences across the curriculum and beyond while having a balance of many opportunities for students to extend their learning in a variety of cultural, sporting and academic extra-curricula activities is important.

My staff and I are committed to the vision of the Department of Education, Training and Employment - clever, skilled and creative Queenslanders. We are proud to be part of a strong public education system, which believes the purpose of education is to meet the needs of different students for high levels of educational attainment.

At The Willows we take pride in the tradition and reputation of the school for pursuing the highest standards of behaviour of the students and in the academic, sporting and music programs.

Our students are proud of their school and the privilege to represent The Willows in school and extra-curricula events. Our students wear their school uniform proudly, a uniform that signifies The Willows team and a sense of belonging. Our school, our students and our staff have a great reputation and The Willows State School is well recognised in our local community. At The Willows our staff work alongside each other and students to encourage and achieve our personal best.

As we strive to achieve our potential in a supportive school environment. At The Willows we value safety, respect and learning.

Our school priorities at The Willows for 2017 are:

  • Reading progress and achievement
  • Writing progress and achievement
  • High quality teaching and learning and implementation of the Australian Curriculum
