The Willows State School has been in partnership with the Global Tropic Futures Project for the past 4 years. The goal of this project is to ignite passion, inspire future pathways and innovate solutions to global STEM challenges. Students from across Queensland, New South Wales, Northern Territory and New Zealand use iSee to collaborate and solve global challenges.
The Global Tropics Future Project's innovative approaches to STEM engagement and learning has been recognised regionally and nationally through a variety of awards. These include: State Winner for the Department of Education's Showcase Award for Excellence in Industry Partnerships, finalist for Best STEM Project at the Australian Education Awards, selected by The Educator Magazine in the top 40 Innovative Schools nationally, national winner of the Indigenous STEM School Award, national winner of the Resilient Australia School Award and the Peter Doherty Outstanding STEM School Award.
Students from year 5 and 6 who are show are strong in Technology, Science and Maths are selected to participate.
