Parent teacher communication

Parents are welcomed into the school and communication from teachers to families is regular, appropriate and via a variety of mediums.

Class teachers conduct parent information sessions at the beginning of each year, oral reporting is conducted twice per year in addition to two written reports per year, teachers phone or email parents as required and parents are invited to students’ demonstrations of learning upon completion of units of work.  Information sessions and training are also offered to parents during the year.

The school has an active and highly effective Parents and Citizens Association who provide oversight for both the Tuckshop and the Out of Hours School Care programs that are well supported by the school community.  Parent volunteers are encouraged to work in classrooms.

Staff offer a variety of programs to parents to support their child’s learning including Support-A-Reader, 123 Magic, Basic ICTs and KidsMatter.
