The BOM has now issued a cyclone watch for the system currently developing off the coast.

As things develop further over the weekend, the Regional Director, in conjunction with the Minister for Education and Director-General may make a decision about school closures.

If this happens, it will be announced on local radio stations. Please listen to, and rely upon, local radio stations, for information about school closures. School closures due to natural disasters are also posted on the DETE website, Facebook and Twitter.

If the school is open, please make your own decision about sending your children to school based on your own safety.
  • Is it safe to travel to and from school
  • Is it safe to be at school?
Please use your own judgement about the safety of yourself and your family when making decisions about school next week.
We will try to keep you up to date via this page and the P&C Facebook page, but this may not be possible due to loss of power, so please listen to local radio.
Stay safe!
